2014 has been a great year for us. We had the chance to work on many interesting projects, to continue relationships with existing clients, and to build more relationships with new partners. It has been a successful year that allowed us to grow and we wanted to share some of that.
As donating always feels great, we followed our tradition and let each member of our team choose where their share of the donation should go to. If the holiday season put you in an extra giving mood, too, you can get some inspiration from the list of organizations we supported this year:
mob e.V./ strassenfeger started the project “mob e.V. Mit warmen Hoodies in den Winter” that provides homeless people in Berlin with sweaters to help them fight the cold winter weather a little bit better. We hope that our donation helps a few more people to stay warm.
Another great project that helps homeless people is called “Kältehilfe – Hilfe für Wohnungslose im Winster” and has been initiated by the Berliner Stadtmission. During cold nights, their buses pick up people from the streets and bring them to emergency shelters. They also provide medical treatment, food, clothes, and showers and are of great value especially during the cold season.
Among other projects, Unicef e.V. is trying to fight the Ebola virus is West Africa. Our donation helps them clean the water and inform people about the spreading of the disease and how to try to prevent it.
DKMS uses our donation to help patients with blood cancer find possible donors and to save lives. Their goal is to eventually defeat leukemia, which is a project we are more than happy to support.
The civil war in Syria already forced half its population to flee the country. We decided to support them via UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe e.V. whose members work on giving refugees shelter, food, and moral support in the neighboring countries.
Die Arche is a wonderful German organization we chose to support that works hard on making children from economically or emotionally poor families feel less poor by giving them help in the form of a warm meal, help with their homework, clothes, activities, and a lot of attention.
To end the lack of light and electricity in developing African countries around the equator, Ingenieure ohne Grenzen e.V. developed a small hydro plant that can easily be installed in households and functions as a dependable source of power. We invested in their project called “Open-Source Kleinst-Wasserkraftanlage ‘WIL250’”.
In Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V., educated doctors volunteer in countries where medical treatment is especially vital and provide the necessary support. Our donation enables them to get to the places where they are most needed and to have access to the important and life-saving medications.
The Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. fights against world hunger and for a sustainable food security. We try to help them build a better tomorrow.
And last but not least, we planted 75 trees with the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation to afford a greener and better planet to the next generation.
Being able to support so many different organizations is a fantastic feeling and made all of us at simpleTechs very happy, but we would not have had the chance to do this without our clients and partners. Thus, we want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of you!
We are excited to see what 2015 holds for us.
